THE FUTURE-READY GCC LEADER
From Excellence to Evolution
The leadership identity that built your GCC career may not be the one this next phase needs
Most leadership books are not written for the transition GCC leaders are facing right now. AI is accelerating that shift, challenging how GCCs work, and why they exist in their current form. The Future-Ready GCC Leader is for this moment.
Whether you’re leading a GCC through AI-led transformation, coaching senior leaders through this exact identity shift, or simply trying to understand what “leading at the next level” actually requires, this book gives you an honest diagnosis, a practical roadmap, and a tool to turn insight into a personal, specific commitment.
Are you leading at the level your GCC now needs?
Looking for the 4 Dimensions every future-ready GCC leader needs?
Deciding? Here’s why you should pick up this book...
- Are you excelling operationally, and still privately uncertain what the next phase of your leadership actually requires?
- Have you noticed the mandate changing faster than the leadership conversation around you?
- Want to know which of 5 common leadership identities you’re actually leading from, and where it’s quietly becoming a ceiling?
- Curious whether your strongest instinct, the one that built your career, might also be the thing holding your team back?
- If you answered yes to any of these, this book will meet you where you are – and help take you where you want to go next.
Why did I write this book?
This book started from a pattern I kept seeing in coaching rooms across GCCs: Capable, accomplished leaders who had done everything right, and were still finding the next phase of leadership genuinely hard to name. Not because they lacked skill. Because the mandate had changed faster than the leadership conversation around them.
The Future-Ready GCC, my earlier book, named where the organisation needs to go, across 7 categories of maturity. This book exists because mapping the organisation’s gaps isn’t enough on its own. An organisation can map every gap with precision and still stall, if the leadership inside it hasn’t evolved at the same pace. This book names who needs to lead it there.
Who is this book for?
GCC leaders who are excelling by every operational measure, and privately sense that the next phase of their leadership requires something different.
Senior executives navigating the shift from delivery and execution toward enterprise judgment and strategic influence.
HR and talent leaders responsible for developing the next generation of GCC leadership, and looking for a framework that names the identity gap explicitly.
Anyone who has read The Future-Ready GCC and found themselves asking: “I can see where the organisation needs to go. I’m not sure I’m the leader who can take it there yet.”
Unique Aspects of the book
5 Leadership Identities, honestly named. The Delivery Leader, the Efficiency Leader, the Expert Leader, the Safe Leader, and the Emerging Strategic Leader. Each identity is named with respect for what it built, not as a deficiency to fix.
EDGE: 4 practical Dimensions, not abstract theory. Enterprise Judgment, Directional Influence, Growth of Others, and Experimentation for Value, the roadmap for what leading at the next level actually looks like in a GCC context.
Diagnosis before action, not another action plan. A free online self-assessment lets you find out which identity you’re leading from and where you stand across all 4 EDGE dimensions, before being asked to commit to anything.
One personalised commitment, not a sweeping plan. The book deliberately asks for something smaller and more specific than a transformation roadmap, a single, concrete commitment you can actually act on and notice when you haven’t.
Shaped by 16 senior GCC voices. CHROs, founders, GCC heads, and ecosystem leaders read early drafts and shared their own perspective on what future-ready GCC leadership requires. Their voices, and the dimension each of them holds as most critical, are woven through the book.
Key Highlights of the book
A practical roadmap built around the 4 EDGE dimensions, showing what leading at the next level looks like in the GCC context.
An honest diagnosis of the leadership identity your career has built, the trade-offs it has created, and the habits quietly limiting what you can become next.
A free, 8-minute self-assessment, “Are You a Future-Ready GCC Leader?”, scoring your leadership identity and all four EDGE dimensions, with a deeper report available mapped to specific chapters.
The organisational companion to The Future-Ready GCC, completing a single argument in two parts: where the GCC needs to go, and who needs to lead it there.
