THE COLOURFUL TEAM

Reconnect * Reflect * Create

Bringing connection and meaning back to Teamwork

A book for teams that work well – but could work better together.
Teams today are skilled, busy, and well-intentioned.
Yet connection fades. Tensions go unspoken. Reflection gets crowded out by speed.

THE COLOURFUL TEAM offers a gentle, practical alternative.
Using the metaphor of a paint box and seven colours, this book helps teams:

  • Reconnect beyond roles
  • Reflect without blame. Notice patterns that shape behaviour
  • Create with intention, not urgency

It blends story, reflection and light art-based activities – not as a program, but as a pause.
This is not a training manual. It is a shared experience teams can return to – individually or together.

Restoring connection and shared meaning in everyday Teamwork.

Do you want to Reconnect with your Team beyond roles?

Why did I write this book?

I wrote The Colourful Team because I have seen that many capable teams struggle not with skill or commitment, but with fading connection.

In fast-moving workplaces, reflection gets crowded out, conversations become transactional and people show up as roles rather than as individuals.

Instead of adding another framework or performance model, I wanted to offer something gentler – a way for teams to pause, notice one another beyond titles and rediscover shared meaning in their everyday work.

Who should read this book?

  • Teams that work well – but sense they could work better together
  • Managers and team leads who want deeper collaboration without more process
  • HR and L&D leaders seeking thoughtful, non-intrusive ways to strengthen Teamwork
  • Project, transformation, or cross-functional teams navigating complexity
  • Professionals who value reflection, story and human insight over prescriptive models

Unique Aspects of the book

  • Uses a simple metaphor – a paint box and seven Colours – to explore teamwork
  • Blends story, reflection and light art-based prompts (no artistic skill required)
  • Not a training manual, toolkit or personality framework
  • Designed for both individual reflection and shared team use
  • Calm, non-judgmental tone that encourages noticing rather than fixing

Key Highlights of the book

  • A memorable story that brings team dynamics to life

  • Three-part structure: Reconnect • Reflect • Create

  • Gentle visual prompts and standalone reflection pages

  • Practical yet pressure-free activities for real teams

  • A format that teams can return to whenever connection feels thin

At its heart, The Colourful Team reminds readers that when people feel seen, heard, and valued, teamwork naturally becomes stronger – and more meaningful.

Do you want to Reflect without blame in your Team?
